Most of us have heard of probiotics, and that they play an important role in gut health. However what exactly are they, and what do they do?
Probiotics are the healthy bacteria that are found in our gut, helping to encourage better health, and avoiding development of a number of conditions, from improving blood pressure to eczema, and IBS to alzheimers1,2,3,4.
There are billions of these healthy bacteria found in our gut, along with various strains of different types. The more types of different bacteria, the healthier we tend to be. Research shows that what we eat in particularly can have an impact on these different strains of bacteria, and as such, on the health of our gut5.
